Frosty Snowman Meltdown (Frosty for short) is a rocket designed for G
Streamer Duration event, but it will make a nice sport model too.
Frosty
can accommodate 25”x 250” streamer and recommended motor is G42-8 (or
similar). When G42-8 is used, the ejection will be very close to apogee
(above 3000’). Frosty is not limited to G motors only, it will take
anything from D12 (if you build it with 24mm mount) to G80.
The rocket name was inspired by decoration pattern on its recovery
device (25”x 250” polywrap streamer). See the rocket plan for a
small sample of this pattern. Also, the prototype was flown
at late November contest and the temperature was “frosty” at best.
